Mechanical Design Engineer
Dan studied mechanical engineering at Bath University, graduating in the early 1980s and gaining a placement on a graduate training scheme with the Austin-Rover Group.
Joining the engine design department at Austin-Rover upon graduating started a long period of internal combustion engine design in several companies such as Ricardo Consulting Engineers, Perkins Engines, Case New Holland and more recently Mercedes AMG HPP working on Formula 1 engine design.
Dan has also worked in the Aerospace Industry and in Oil and Gas as a mechanical design engineer taking many design projects from concept through to successful product launch covering a wide range of engineering design activities such as concept design, structural analysis, definitive design and detail design.
Dan enjoys finding solutions to mechanical design problems where imagination and innovative ideas turn a vision for a product into a fully engineered reality. This has led to being named inventor in six patent applications over his career.
Dan is a foudning team member of Dynisma and has carried out much of the mechanical CAD work and structural and modal analysis for the main Dynisma products DMG1, DMG-X and DMG360L simulators as well designing technology demonstrators.
