Rory Williams

Structural Analysis Engineer

Rory studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bristol, finishing in 2018 having completed projects relating to thermal engines and heat pumps during the course. Whilst there, he worked at Rolls-Royce in the Civil Aerospace sector for two internships with a focus on thermal systems. Following university, he returned to join the graduate scheme, this time within the Defence Aerospace industry at Filton.

Over the duration of the scheme, he delivered projects relating to surrogate modelling of compressor blades, engine and fuel nozzle testing, and development of VR haptic training products, before moving into structural analysis of fans and compressors. Gaining experience on modelling rotating and static components in metallics and composite, he further improved his analytical skills, as well as expanding into new topics such as damping and aeroelastic methods.

At Dynisma, Rory works as the first dedicated structural analysist in the company, aiming to bring detailed modelling experience in house to ensure the integrity of future products.
