Structural Analysis Engineer

Permanent

Dynisma is revolutionising the automotive and motorsport driving simulator market with its disruptive Motion Generator technology.  Our cutting-edge approach to simulator design delivers more data about vehicle dynamics and ride to drivers and passengers with less latency and more accurately than any other motion simulators available.

Our CEO Ash Warne started the business in 2017 after leading the simulator programmes at McLaren and Ferrari F1 teams. We have since grown to a team of over 40 engineers, delivering turnkey driving simulators to customers including Ferrari F1 Team as well as a number of other marquee brands.

About the team

We are a team of engineers experienced both in the design and manufacture of driving simulators, as well as their use in vehicle development. We develop, deliver and support outstanding, ground-breaking simulators and motion generators that support the engineering that leads to winning performance on the track.

The role

We have world leading technical knowledge and experience in the design, verification, build, validation and operation of motion simulation technology and are now searching for an outstanding Structural Analysis Engineer to join our dynamic team and grow with us. Our Structural Analysis Engineers work very closely with our designers and our simulation & control engineers. Taking data such as bandwidth requirements, loads and accelerations from specifications and system models and analysing potential structural solutions to these. Exploring structural capabilities, sensitivities and optimisations. Understanding, proving and developing our analysis and test toolkit is also a key journey for the team.

The person

The qualities we hope you will bring to our team:

  • Having an intelligent, inquisitive and creative mind. You’ll be interested in the technology, the customers and the work of others in the business. • A modest and collaborative team player, willing to work closely with colleagues across the business. You’ll be someone who’ll take satisfaction from the team’s success and your contributions towards those successes. You will look to develop others alongside yourself.
  • A personal sense of ownership and responsibility for analysis deliverables throughout the product life cycle and application of strategic thinking on how best to meet them.
  • Being a tenacious and resilient problem solver, you will be someone with the desire to reach new solutions and the understanding that getting there is likely to be challenging.

The capabilities

  • A clear understanding of applied physics and engineering fundamentals.
  • Proven mathematical skills and the ability to set out and complete calculations.
  • The ability to specify and undertake static and dynamic non-linear structural analysis and understand explicit analysis methods.
  • The ability to learn quickly, to understand engineering systems and utilise software to solve problems and process data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You be able to clearly and concisely present the technical information you’ll need others in the business to see and to record for future reference. This will include technical documentation.
  • Confidence in exploring and finding publications to guide your practice and further the knowledge and capabilities of you and your team mates as well as finding and working to relevant directives, regulations, standards or guidance.
  • The ability to identify and specify simulations and physical experiments & tests to validate your methods
