Warehouse Manager

Permanent, Bristol, UK

We’re looking for a hands on Warehouse Manager to take ownership of our warehouse operations across multiple sites within a growing manufacturing business. 

This is a practical, sleeves-rolled-up role where you’ll lead a small team, manage the flow of goods in and out, and ensure stock is accurate, organised, and available to support production and customer delivery.

Role & Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations & Stock Control

  • Oversee all goods in and goods out activities across the business ensuring effective communication and efficiencies
  • Ensure deliveries are checked, booked in, and stored correctly
  • Manage dispatch/movement to customers and between internal sites
  • Maintain accurate inventory across multiple locations ensuring correct usage and data accuracy in the ERP system
  • Manage the team and process to ensure timely and accurate kitting of components to support production schedules
  • Work closely with engineering, material control and production teams to understand material requirements
  • Identify and resolve material shortages, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies
  • Ensure high levels of stock accuracy through effective systems, controls, and cycle counting
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies through Route Cause Analysis and implement mitigations
  • Implement and maintain structured storage systems to improve efficiency and accessibility.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment, complying with Health and Safety regulations.
  • Ensure all activities comply with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
  • Promote sustainable practices that align with corporate social responsibility goals.
  • Maintain accurate and auditable documentation.

Team Management & Development

  • Lead, develop, and support warehouse and inventory personnel (including Inventory Controllers / Operatives)
  • Set clear expectations, manage performance, and build a high-performing team culture
  • Ensure training, safety standards, and best practices are consistently applied

Continuous Improvements and Reporting

  • Drive continuous improvement across warehouse operations, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices
  • Use data and reporting to monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Keep stock systems (ERP/MRP) accurate and up to date
  • Track and report on key warehouse metrics

What we are looking for

Essential

  • Experience in a warehouse or stores management/supervisory role
  • Background in manufacturing or a similar environment
  • Strong understanding of stock control and inventory management
  • Experience managing or leading a small team
  • Comfortable using ERP/MRP or stock systems
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving production environment

Desirable

  • Experience working across multiple sites
  • Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
  • Continuous improvement / lean experience
